Immersive installations anchor the show floor
A central feature of BDNY 2026 is its Designed Spaces program, where designers and brands collaborate to build full-scale environments that demonstrate how products and materials come together in real hospitality settings. Three major installations are planned this year.
One Night Only, designed by Crème / Jun Aizaki Architecture & Design for IHG Hotels & Resorts, draws on New York’s historic nightlife scene. The installation merges the identities of Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, and Ruby Hotels into an immersive environment that explores storytelling and social connection through design.
The Gilded Dare, a collaboration between Ennismore and Avenue ID, reinterprets the opulence of an old-world Manhattan penthouse. The installation uses ornate detailing, unexpected materials, and contemporary forms to update Gilded Age glamour with a playful, layered approach.
Preen takes a darker, more communal direction with The Unkindness of Ravens, a richly textured gathering space inspired by the cooperative behavior of ravens. The installation focuses on how communal settings can foster creativity, camaraderie, and connection.
Additional activations include RELISH, a fully functioning café and conference lounge designed by Washington D.C.–based firm //3877. The space reimagines BDNY’s Dine & Design experience as an intimate supper club, using rich wood detailing, velvet upholstery, and tactile materials. Beth Bloom Designs will transform the BDNY Main Stage into a coastal-inspired retreat, combining lush botanicals, a sand-and-shell palette, and relaxed lounge seating to interpret contemporary resort design.
New exhibitors and international expansion
More than 100 brands will exhibit at BDNY for the first time in 2026. First-time exhibitors include AP Collection, coEco Panels, Frankford Umbrellas, Natuzzi, and Sixinch Americas, with product categories spanning furniture, sustainable materials, and specialty products.
International participation continues to grow. Exhibitors from more than 55 countries are confirmed, including Croatia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Portugal, and Spain. For the first time, Korea and Norway will present dedicated country pavilions, offering designers and specifiers direct access to manufacturers and materials from those markets.
Conference program shaped by industry leaders
BDNY’s 2026 conference program introduces a new advisory group called The Curators, which has helped shape the session lineup. Participants include Paolo Ferrari of Studio Paolo Ferrari, Lori Mukoyama of Gensler, Mark Eacott of Ennismore, Susan Nugraha of Tao Group Hospitality, and David Shove-Brown of //3877, among others.
The program will also include the BDNY Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality Breakfast, presented in partnership with NEWH, the hospitality industry network. The session brings together leaders from design, development, operations, and investment to discuss forces shaping the sector.
Awards week recognizes industry contributions
BDNY week will also host two major hospitality design awards. The 37th annual Platinum Circle Awards Gala takes place on November 6, honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the hospitality design industry. The 46th annual Gold Key Awards follow on November 9, recognizing excellence in hospitality design projects.
For architects, interior designers, and specifiers working in hospitality, BDNY 2026 offers a concentrated opportunity to evaluate new products, understand material trends, and connect with international manufacturers. The addition of the Korea and Norway pavilions, alongside the curated conference program, signals the continued globalisation of the hospitality design market.
