Temporary Beach Installation Transforms Logroño Square into Interactive Public Space

Central Spain’s Logroño has been transformed by “Architecture for Ritual,” a striking temporary installation that has introduced a beach-like landscape to the historic Plaza del Mercado. Created by Brussels-based practice CENTRAL and architecture photographer Maxime Delvaux, the project is a key feature of the Concéntrico 2026 Festival, designed to encourage new ways for residents and visitors to interact with the urban environment.

A Sand Dune and a Colorful Mast

The installation is characterized by a large dune of sand that covers the square’s stone paving, creating an unexpected and playful topography.
