Turin’s Lève Office Bar Reimagines 1960s Workplace Aesthetics
Designer Fabio Fantolino draws inspiration from midcentury office interiors to create a chic, multi-functional bar space in Turin, blending corporate precision with a warm, convivial atmosphere.

A new bar in Turin, Italy, is turning heads by drawing inspiration from an unexpected source: the sophisticated aesthetic of 1960s office design. Lève Office Bar, conceived by Italian architect Fabio Fantolino, transforms the visual language of midcentury workplaces into a dynamic hospitality environment that caters to patrons throughout the day and into the night.
Fantolino’s design approach emphasizes materiality and composition, utilizing chrome-plated metal, stainless steel, and reflective surfaces, punctuated by bold color accents. The result is a layered interior that balances corporate precision with an inviting and convivial atmosphere.
Zoning the Space
The bar is divided into three distinct zones, each offering a unique experience. Upon entry, guests are greeted by a striking stainless-steel counter backed by a deep red enamel finish. This central element is designed to be adaptable, serving as a casual daytime counter that seamlessly transitions into a sophisticated cocktail station in the evening. A herringbone floor in a brick tone adds a touch of domestic warmth, contrasting with the otherwise sleek, reflective finishes.
The double-height central space amplifies the midcentury references. Here, a vibrant green resin floor complements mirrors, chrome, and stainless steel, balanced by the inclusion of wood and leather details. This area creates a more immersive environment, echoing the open-plan layouts of American offices from the 1960s.
Upstairs, the design continues to evoke the era, with seating arrangements featuring leather and bouclé fabrics that subtly nod to the lounge areas of midcentury workplaces. These seating zones are framed by red wood and laminate paneling, further reinforcing the nostalgic yet modern theme.
Lighting as a Design Element
Lighting plays a crucial role in defining the atmosphere of Lève Office Bar. The lower level features a luminous ceiling grid that animates the space, while retro-inspired pendant lamps are strategically placed to establish a rhythmic visual flow. Additional statement lighting fixtures from brands like Lambert & Fils and Santa & Cole complete the sophisticated scheme.
A Diverse Offering
Lève Office Bar operates daily from 7:30 am to 1:00 am, extending to 1:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays, serving a menu that spans from breakfast to late-night drinks. The cocktail list includes five signature twists on classic drinks, such as a cherry-and-cinchona Boulevardier and a clarified Piña Colada. The food menu offers a range of options, from bocadillos, oysters, and caviar to bao and gourmet focaccia, with sushi also available.
The bar is located at Via Stampatori, 21, 10122 Turin, Italy.
