Willo Perron’s Pillo Bed Brings Knoll Back to the Bedroom After 20 Years
The Los Angeles-based designer expands his Pillo collection with a plush, upholstered bed — the first bed from Knoll in two decades.

Knoll, the Pennsylvania-based furniture manufacturer known for iconic modernist designs, has introduced its first bed in 20 years. The new Pillo bed, designed by Los Angeles-based creative director and designer Willo Perron, extends his existing Pillo collection and brings a soft, cushion-like silhouette into the bedroom.
Perron, named Wallpaper* Designer of the Year for 2026, first collaborated with Knoll in 2024 on the Pillo sofa. The collection has since grown to include lounge chairs, modular seating, and pillows. The bed is the latest addition, and the first Knoll bed since the company last offered one two decades ago.
Design and construction
The Pillo bed features an upholstered frame that blurs the line between furniture and bedding. The headboard functions as a large, plush cushion, designed to allow users to sit up comfortably while reading or watching television. The frame is fully upholstered, giving the bed a soft, pillowy appearance that extends beyond the mattress area.
Knoll creative director Jonathan Olivares described the design as “quietening and simplifying the bedroom.” The bed is intended to work within a variety of interior contexts, from minimalist to more layered spaces. Buyers can customise the upholstery colour to match their existing decor.
The bed is designed to pair with other pieces in the Pillo family, but Perron encourages mixing and matching rather than strict uniformity. “I don’t believe in uniformity and that extends to this bed – my pieces are designed to be a kind of functional system, but in an adaptable way where they can become unique to each person and each space through material, colour and context,” Perron said in a statement.

Context and significance
Knoll has long been associated with office and contract furniture, as well as iconic residential pieces by designers such as Eero Saarinen, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and Florence Knoll. The reintroduction of a bed signals a renewed focus on the residential bedroom as a design category. The Pillo bed, with its soft form and upholstered frame, represents a departure from the more structural, architectural furniture for which Knoll is known.
For Perron, the bed continues a body of work that spans furniture, objects, stage sets, and brand identities for clients including Beyoncé, Charli XCX, St. Vincent, and Chanel. His approach to the Pillo collection treats furniture as a functional system that can be adapted through material and colour choices, rather than a fixed set of matching pieces.
What this means for interior designers and specifiers
The Pillo bed offers a new option for residential and hospitality projects that require a soft, contemporary aesthetic without sacrificing durability. Its upholstered frame and customisable fabric make it suitable for hotel suites, boutique guesthouses, and high-end residential bedrooms where comfort and visual softness are priorities. The bed’s neutral silhouette allows it to anchor a room without dominating it, while the headboard’s cushion-like form adds a tactile, lounge-like quality.
Designers working on projects that blend residential comfort with commercial-grade durability may find the Pillo bed a practical addition to their specifications. The ability to customise upholstery colour also allows for integration into a wide range of colour palettes and design schemes.
Availability and next steps
Knoll has not yet published full pricing, dimensions, or lead times for the Pillo bed. Specifiers and buyers interested in the bed should contact Knoll directly or check the brand’s website for further details. The bed is expected to be available through Knoll’s standard residential and contract sales channels.
